Vintage Folmer & Schwing Wooden Crown Tripod No. 4, All Brass Fittings

  

C1903+, Patented June 23, 1903. Collapsed dimensions 19 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 7/8. Individual leg portions 7/8" x 13/32" of varied length. Disc diameter 6 9/16, appropriate for the largest of wooden cameras.

Leg length fully extended 65 1/2. Wing nut camera mounting screw, standard 1/4 x 20tpi threads. Dings and dents consistent with age and usage. To attach legs, rotate upward the top two sections of each leg and squeeze them toward each other until they fit between a pair of opposite facing rivets on the disc. Release pressure when the holes in the legs are placed on the rivets.

Fold down the centrally located brass plate into its secure position. To extend legs, release both knurled screw knobs on legs and extend legs to desired length and retighten them only to the point of security. Caution: Overtightening the lower knob could result in splitting the wood at the end of the two portions of the middle section.
