Nice vintage wooden surveyors tripod original - stripped - SOKKISHA - Japanese. Nice vintage photo surveying tripod in lovely condition.

Great for use with indoor lights or theatre lights. Wood was originally yellow but has been stripped given a new coat of varnish. The original yellow paint is still in the grooves for a nice effect. The metal bits have been stripped and polished as best I can. Some old paint remains here and there which adds to character. Some deep scrathes have not been polished out but this shows this was a working tripod and not some repro thing. The leather carry strap is in place and intact but a little ropey. For the sake of the listing I point out that there are obvious signs of wear and use. There are scratches, minor dents, tarnish, old paint, chips and marks to all metal and wood work as you'd expect on a vintage used item of this nature. All defects are consistent with age and use and adds to the appeal of the item in my opinion. The conditions overall are good. Great decorative items or for re-use in something weird and wonderful. Photos will tell the story so please use this as a basis of condition when I add them.
